Rotary Club of Kattappana

Service Above Self

Welcome to the official website of Rotary Club of Kattappana, a proud member of Rotary International, where committed individuals unite to take action and create lasting change — in our community and around the world.

Located in the scenic high ranges of Idukki district, Kerala, our club is a vibrant community of professionals, business leaders, and service-minded individuals who are passionate about making a difference. Through sustainable service projects, community partnerships, and leadership development, we work towards a brighter, more inclusive tomorrow.

The Rotary Journey

From a Vision to Global Impact

Rotary began with the vision of a single man — Paul Harris, a Chicago attorney who founded the Rotary Club of Chicago on February 23, 1905. His goal was simple yet powerful: to bring together professionals from diverse backgrounds to share ideas, foster meaningful relationships, and create lasting friendships.

As Rotary grew, so did its mission. What started as a local network of professionals soon expanded into a global force for good, dedicated to humanitarian service and community development. Rotary members around the world have consistently taken action to tackle real-world challenges — both locally and globally.

“Whatever Rotary may mean to us, to the world it will be known by the results it achieves.”
— Paul Harris, Founder of Rotary

A Global Commitment That Endures
Rotary’s commitment to service continues today through a truly international presence. Just 16 years after its founding, Rotary had established clubs on six continents. Today, our members span the globe — united by the common purpose of creating positive, lasting change.

We believe in setting bold goals and making big dreams a reality. In 1979, we launched our fight against polio by immunizing 6 million children in the Philippines. Since then, we’ve helped reduce polio cases from 125 countries in 1988 to just two endemic countries today.

At Rotary, we turn ideas into action — and action into impact.

Message from Rotary International President – Francesco Arezzo (2025–26)

Dear Rotarians,

It is with deep humility and enduring passion that I serve as the President of Rotary International for the year 2025–26. With over three decades of experience in Rotary, I’ve seen firsthand how this global network of volunteers transforms communities and inspires action across continents.

This year, under the theme “Unite for Good,” we focus on togetherness — across cultures, professions, and generations. In every club, in every project, and in every handshake of service, we demonstrate the unmatched strength of unity.

Message from Rotary District Governor, Rtn Dr.G N Ramesh (2025-26)

Dear Rotarians,

It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as the District Governor of the unified District 3201 during this historic Rotary year.

As we prepare for the upcoming bifurcation of our district, I urge every club to recognize the strength in our unity and the legacy we’ve built together. Let us continue to work hand-in-hand, celebrate shared successes, and inspire one another through collaboration and support.

This year, I encourage clubs to:

Share best practices openly

Embrace fresh ideas and innovation

Nurture and empower the next generation of Rotarians

Let us stay committed to key focus areas that matter deeply — mental wellness, empowering girls, promoting positive peace, and protecting our environment. These are not just themes but essential calls to action that reflect Rotary’s evolving purpose.

I also call upon all clubs to leverage technology and seek meaningful partnerships that amplify our impact. Together, we can shape a future rooted in compassion, service, and lasting change.

Let this year be one of transformation, resilience, and renewed purpose.

Yours in Rotary Service,
District Governor 2025–2026
